Talk Radio, Afghanistan
The Afghan Lord says Taliban radio is back on the air. "The Taliban used to distribute letters throughout the night, dropping them in the front of house doors, throwing them inside shops, hanging them on walls and especially in mosques. As long as Radio Shariat broadcasts, they are able to have easily access to people, and this will make it easier too for them to reach people and harass them."
Nothing follows.

It appears to me the Taliban are following in the footsteps of AQ in Iraq, where their brutality has alienated even their Sunni protectors to the point where Sunnis are turning on them.
The Taliban have increased their use of suicide bomb and IEDS, There have been a couple of attacks recently on Afghan policemen. There was the recent story of the Taliban who put a vest on a six year old boy and tried to trick him into being a suicide bomber.
The recent Operation Maiwand, the first Afghan planned and led operation, was as much about providing services to the local people in Ghazni province as it was about eliminating the Taliban.
I think the average Afghan recognizes the emptiness of Taliban rule, and these radio broadcasts will only be a little more rope with which the Taliban can hang themselves.
As an addendum to my last comment, this from NATO ISAF today:
"A 9-month old baby girl is clinging to life at an ISAF medical facility after an improvised-explosive device detonated on her family’s vehicle this morning in Kunar province and placed by Taliban extremists.
Her parents and an unidentified male family member were killed in the blast."
Not exactly a winning strategy for the Taliban.
