To the Victors the Spoils
Hamas, according to Yoni the Blogger, claims it has captured CIA documents describing sources and methods of intelligence gathering stored at former Fatah buildings. "After overtaking the Palestinian Authority's Preventive Security headquarters in Gaza City on Thursday afternoon, Hamas fighters report they have seized tens of thousands of highly valuable intelligence documents, including correspondence between the PA and others, including the CIA, regarding security issues."
Yoni says:
The implications of this may be huge. My sources tell me the CIA has been using the Fatah security office to run operations and now these documents have fallen into the hands of Hamas.
They will be able to roll up these operations which extend into Jordan and Egypt.
Even more important is that the revelation of these operations may and I stress may have the potential to be the start of events that could cause the governments of Egypt and Jordan to fall.
Nothing follows.

The accompanying photograph looks strange, and I wasn't expecting anything strange.
It would be odd if there weren't such documents. till, I'm dubious that the details about networks amount to much -- probably requests from CIA to Fatah to put them in touch with certain people, or notes on Fatah/CIA consultations, or CIA information to Fatah on Hamas or other local actors.
In general I'm sure that Fatah and CIA, as well as Mosssd and Shin Bet have all consulted at times in the past with Fatah on matters of mutual interest, such as screwing Hamas, and no doubt they will in the future.
I'll be curious to see what the documents actually say. Some might reflect US liaison arrangements with the PA police authorities prior to the time Hamas won that election.
Truthfully, I'd be shocked if there weren't such documents, and I wouldn't necessarily get alarmed about them. And Hamas will probably take the opportunity to slip in some good fakes saying embarassing things along with the real ones. They'd be dummies not to. But some of the documents will be real.
I'm more interested in why Hamas was able to so handily kick Fatah's ass, particularly since Fatah had some under the table Israeli backing. I suspect the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah are back of it someplace.
It looks posed, though I don't doubt that Hamas seized Fatah documents. Whenever a headquarters falls to the enemy, this is what happens. The US had so many captured documents from Saddam that many are still untranslated.
But I digress. If Hamas had any real goods on the CIA, they wouldn't trumpet it, because you would try to keep the CIA guessing how much was compromised. So I think Hamas is saying what it thinks it wants the world to believe.
But their narrative from the beginning has been that Fatah is an Israeli front. Yoni is probably right in saying that this will put a lot of heat on Egypt and Jordan. It may even put heat on Fatah, because one proves one's bona fides in that part of the world by outdoing your rival in Jew-hatred and hostility towards America.
Most of those who argue that Iran would be "saddled with Iraq" if America pulls out should watch Gaza closely. Iran might pick up part of the tab for Gaza because they use welfare as a political tool. But more likely, they are going to let a humanitarian crisis happen and blame the West. And I wouldn't be surprised if Europe and or America pick up the tab for feeding Gaza while Hamas emplaces its rockets and aims at Israel.
Of course Israel may decide domestically to simply clean out Hamasistan. Since there is no negotiating with them anyway.
And by clean out I mean unrestricted military operations. There won't be much Western Press there, and Israel can do what ever it wants. Including complete population transfer to Egypt.
Why not? What does Israel have to lose?
Four guys in ski masks who look like they're shopping at Target? "I'd like another box of CIA documents, please." Do they sleep in those ski masks? And the guy found several documents that mentioned himself. Riiiiight.
Does that room look like it holds thousands of documents? Those look like Arafat's old tax returns. And I wish that Arafat wasn't smiling at us and waving. I think there would be many more bullet holes and a much larger "mess" in any room that Hamas had taken from, what were their names, oh yeah, Fatah. There are hardly any blood stains.
Whiskey, Israel can never do what ever it wants. While destroying Hamas and "encouraging" the Gazistanis to flee may be the logical endpoint to this business Israel will not have a free pass. Condi's panties would certainly be in a bunch if something like that were to come to pass. You can easily list the others that would object to such an outcome. I doubt that Olmert has the brains or balls to engineer such an outcome.
So uneducated Arab terrorists can read CIA documents written in English? And can translate codes?
Righhhhht. I absolutely believe that.
In Vietnam during my CIA years we received intel that a battalion size NVA unit was going to attack a certain villiage that we had been "using" for the express purpose of attracting the NVA....the reason ..we knew the battalion commander had an eye for walking sticks.
When the NVA took the village they got a handful of "very important documents" and several very fancy and handsome walking canes...each one bugged....sure enough the commander took them all and was never without one. The others he kept at his office near his desk and the others were rotated to several places ...it was a nice operation..we smiled when NSA began to get the intercepts.
Why can't Israel do what it wants? GWB is a lame duck, the Dems will force a surrender to Hamas and Iran anyway, so why not act now and present a fait accompli?
It clears the deck for Lebanon and Syria and Iran as the only attackers, and gets rid of a real danger.
If your life is in danger, do you care about PC? No. You'll do what you have to survive. Israel I would suggest is in the same place. Doing what it has to in order to survive.
Hamasistan ought to make it even to Olmert that there is no peace, only wise fighting. There certainly won't be a lot of press there. Any video can be dismissed as propaganda.
This is absolute nonsense. Any correspondence between the CIA and Fatah would not be marked “yours truly, CIA”.
Anything regarding CIA run agents would not be out of CIA control and left behind intact. At best Hamas has some correspondents between Fatah and the US which of course makes them “CIA”.
This report is like those of “vast underground nuclear facilities” we found immediately after deposing Saddam, total nonsense…
Hamas must have a pretty inflated opinion of the CIA if they actually think anything the CIA has done recently could have consequences in Egypt.
Let's be honest...
Hama's victory is a great day for all free peoples of the world.
With Hamas now the standard bearer of "democracy" it will be just a matter of minutes before they launch into the next stage of the battle to liberate palestine from the zionazi entity.
The good news? Now Israel will not be held back by two faced lying arabs and their lapdogs the EU as for the real meaning of which they speak
take hamas at it's world..
bomb them accordingly...
Gaza needs to be pounded back into the egyptian fold. Will this happen? I doubt it. The frankensteinian process that egypt created with nasser and arafat has now gone full circle.
toss in a pinch of wahabbism, stir in some hezbollah penis envy... and poof, you have gaza today...
From fatah islam and their parasite like hosts (the palios) to the hamas and beyond, the rule of law is expressed by how many 50 cal. bullets will fit into the head of a brother moslem before leaving it a stump....
When the west looks at the palios and their behavior towards EACH other, just think, how would they be if they over ran tel aviv?
Blow back is a bitch, and to every country that has supported the fake people palestine's fake national agenda, beware, your next... From France to Sweden, to Bali to Russia, from anywhere inside the moslem world to london, the virus of nasserism/arafatism/islamism has spread and taken root...
For me, I have been calling this for years...
PASS THE PORK RINDS !sit back and enjoy the show!
With "Palestine" now divided into the West Bank controlled by Fatah and Gaza controlled by Hamas, which one gets to play Pakistan and which one gets to be Bangladesh?
It's important to understand that whatever comes from such people is filled with lies - but that the particular lies they choose to tell are critical for understanding what's going on.
Right now, Putin is establishing himself as the new patron of the old Bolshevik terrorist network. He is responsible for the Bushehr reactor, for the rise in terrorism in the Middle East, for the Left's new found love affair with Islamic fundamentalism, for the arming of Hugo Chavez and for the surrepticious supply of arms to the FARC in Columbia via Venezuela.
Iran is anxious to please their patron, and Hezbollah and Hamas are anxious to please Iran. Right now Syria and iran are falling over each other to see which can gain the bulk of Putin's favour in the region, with Ahmedinejad so far winning over the Assad dynasty. This latest "scoop" is just another means of coordinating their strategy with the Russians, and to discredit Fatah.
Knocking Fatak isn't hard, they having been a corrupt terrorist operation for decades, preying on foreigners, Israelis and Palestinians alike. But speculating that Fatah is a CIA front is ludicrous. The only place that stuff like this will play well is on the Arab street and with the Kremlin and their Leftist seditionist friends in the West - indeed, I would not be surprised to find the story to have been invented by the Okhrana/Cheka/NKVD/KGB/FSB in the first place, and parroted by Hamas as part of a coordinated propaganda offensive.
