George Harrison's ghost takes out stalker

"Cristin Keleher, 34, made headlines in December 1999 by entering George Harrison's Maui estate and then cooking herself a frozen pizza. California police announced that her body had been found in Truckee with that of a 48-year-old man in a car. Both had gunshot wounds to their heads, according to a coroner's report." ]

I KNEW CRISTIN JOY KELLEHER AND SHE WAS A VERY SWEET 25 YEAR OLD GIRL WHEN SHE BROKE INTO GEORGES HOME ON MAUI .
SHE WAS MENTALLY CHALLENGED AND UN EMPLOYABLE AND VERY BEAUTIFUL WHEN I MET HER ONE YEAR LATER.
I COULD SEE WHALES IN HER BIG BLUE EYES.
I FEEL VERY SORRY FOR HER.
GEORGE DOES TOO.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE AND LOVE.

You know... "whales in her eyes," i.e., "large aquatic mammals in her line of sight."
Isn't it obviously?! You people people really have monkeys in your ears sometimes.

I knew Cristin in high school and was shocked when I heard what has happened. Cristin was a beautiful and very funny girl and friend.

You would have to know her to understand the whales in her eyes comment.

She had absolutely beautiful, vibrant very crystal blue eyes and a big smile.

As far as the George Harrison "story" I don't believe she would have ever served any time had he not been attacked a week later.

I was up on the north shore of Oahu last weekend. I counted whales just up the beach from Wiamia Bay in shark Cove. The sea was very blue and very flat. No white caps. No storms in the north pacific. I counted 30-40 spouts per hour for four hours. Some flukes and tail flaps, occasional breaches.

My brother is a an elder in one of the historic hawaiian churches. ie there's more people in the graveyard than in the pews. its a burying church. few men in the choir. which tells you a lot. when people think of hawaiian dancers they think of women. when they think of hawaiian singers they think of men. its a congregationalist church. not as bsd as the episcopalians. they're just going with the flow.

In sunday school i told the fat hawaiian women something I've said in several context this year "if you don't have any enemies then you become your own worst enemy." My own gut protrudes.

We were discussing deuteronomy. One of the women said alas we don't get access to God like the old prophets.

One of the great gifts of Jesus is to give us each individually in Him access to God. It used to be that only the high priest had access to God and then only once a year.

This post called The Enlightenment: Anglo-American (Genesis) vs Franco-Germanic (Anti-Genesis) gives a pretty good schematic of how access to God--or lack there of has played out in the west for the last several hundred years.

Doug,

I don't mean to be obscure.

I weep when I hear Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow I aint kiddin either. This guy's tenor just evokes this life and the next with the perfect desire that would make a 16 year old boy weep.

But its not just him. I was dancing with my 8 year old niece at Turtle Bay Resorts and the bar singer was doing elvis darn near better than elvis.

Hawaiian guys are world class tenors.

imho the sign of a healthy church is bases & especially tenor standing before their God and singing his praise. When you have a congregation full of big hawaiian guys and a choir that's all women. (except for the pastor who has a great tenor voice too.) Something is not right.

That's enough for one post. Anyone listening in catch the Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole voice. the uke isn't bad either.

For now Israel I need to weep a little more. Play it.

The graphics on the previous post of Kamakawiwo'Ole's Somewhere Over The Rainbow were, I think, for American tourists. There were no people in the graphics but the graphics had a lot of American landscapes.

In this version of Kamakawiwo'Ole's Somewhere Over The Rainbow all the graphics are Hawaiian. Judging by the size of the guy the reason he died was because he was carrying too much weight.

Limbaugh got a call from a retired NASA atmospheric scientist:
He pointed out that CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas, by far the major one being WATER VAPOR.
The effect of water vapor and the hydrologic cycle dwarf just about everything as far as heat balance and distribution, and they tend to stabilize the average temp of the world, yet the World continues to go through warm and cold cycles, since solar radiation dwarfs EVERYTHING Else, and the Sun goes through cycles.
I recommend the book:
"Unstopable Global Warming"
which simply recounts the copious written record of warming and cooling cycles in relatively recent history, but long before the industrial revolution.
The folks that farmed Greenland in times of plenty were almost a full foot taller than the people hanging on at the end of the last ice age!
...but as the North Koreans show, either Communism or following Algore will result in the starvation of body and soul!

Interesting how Penn and Teller influenced the reaction by their utilization of word choice or their ability to "frame the debate"

Is this another instance? -

Global Warming as a tool for Leftists (Transnational Progressives)

1) Don't Think of an Elephant: Know Your Values and Frame the Debate The Essential Guide for... Progressives - by George Lakoff (Author), Howard Dean (Foreword), Don Hazen (Introduction)

2) Bush Is Not Incompetent - by George Lakoff, Sam Ferguson, Marc Ettlinger

...Conservatives continue to deny the validity of global warming, because it runs contrary to their moral system. Recognizing global warming would call for environmental regulation and governmental efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Regulation is a perceived interference with the ...free market, Conservatives’ golden calf.

3) Global Warming's Globalist Backers - By J.R. Dunn

...If UN efforts had anything to actually do with global warming, they would not consistently overlook China and India.

The aim of all these schemes, from Annan's tax plans to the Kyoto Treaty to the climate change authority, is simply to...bridle the United States. If not to bring it under complete UN suzerainty, then to exercise some form of bureaucratic restraint over what the UN hierarchy has long viewed as an out-of-control colossus. The UN effectively controls many derelict third-world states (and even the occasional European example, such as Kosovo). Why not the U.S.?

So we can probably leave any sort of global warming authority out of our future calculations. Excepting one possible case: we've previously pointed out here that environmentalism displays all the aspects of a pseudo-religion. And religions - as we've seen in recent years with the Jihadis - represent the sole existing example of a working transnational structure. A militant global environmentalist creed might very well be capable of pushing such a program through. It wouldn't necessarily establish a warming authority as much as it would become one, in and of itself. A very spooky possibility, if only because there are plenty of people in the U.S. who would welcome such a thing. So it might be worth keeping one eye on the situation. But no more than that. For a religion to spread in such a manner it would require a messiah. And the Greens, despite Al Gore's best efforts, don't have one of those yet.

4) The Ideological War Within the West - John Fonte

...Talk in the West of a "culture war" is somewhat misleading, because the arguments over transnational vs. national citizenship, multiculturalism vs. assimilation, and global governance vs. national sovereignty are not simply cultural, but ideological and philosophical. They pose Aristotle's question: "What kind of government is best?"

The challenge from transnational progressivism to traditional American concepts of citizenship, patriotism, assimilation, and the meaning of democracy itself is fundamental. If our system is based not on individual rights (as defined by the U. S. Constitution) but on group consciousness (as defined by international law); not on equality of citizenship but on group preferences for non- citizens (including illegal immigrants) and for certain categories of citizens; not on majority rule within constitutional limits but on power-sharing by different ethnic, racial, gender, and linguistic groups; not on constitutional law, but on transnational law; not on immigrants becoming Americans, but on migrants linked between transnational communities; then the regime will cease to be "constitutional," "liberal," "democratic," and "American," in the understood sense of those terms, but will become in reality a new hybrid system that is "post-constitutional," "post-liberal," "post-democratic," and "post-American."

Elvis went in much the same way. I think drugs got him. But not until his guts had long since poured out over his belt.

We fly two wings: discipline and faith. Rely on either too much and the plane goes down.

I have heard pastors talk about how people will discpline some particular illformed desire without coresponding acts of faith. The consequence is that the desire just squirts out in some other ill formed direction.

According to this blurb in book by Jerry Bridges of Navigators:

Funny how the exceeding riches of God's grace seem to run out the moment we're saved. From then on, we tend to base our relationship with Him on our performance rather than on His grace.

Of course, God continues to deal with us on the basis of His grace, whether or not we understand it. It's just that when we don't, we forgo the abundant freedoms that come from not having to measure up.

The product of over 10 years of Bible study, Transforming Grace is a fountainhead of inspiration and renewal that will show you just how inexhaustible and generous God's grace really is-you'll never be able to ask for too much, need too much, hope for too much, or even sin too much. Like a never-ending stream of ocean waves crashing on the shore, His grace "superabounds" toward you without measure.
