An Inconvenient Truth
China has surpassed the US as the world's largest producer of CO2, the chief "greenhouse gas" said responsible for Global Warming. What will environmentalists say? Barking Moonbat Early Warning System thinks they will say nothing because the real goal of "climate change" activism was to hamstring America.
Come, come. Surely the designers of Kyoto will take a bow. The agreemnent was specifically designed to exempt China and India on the grounds that they were "less culpable". But the argument flew in the face of the facts. Harvard economist Greg Mankiw looks back at how the Clinton Administration regarded Kyoto at its inception. "My understanding is that the economists in the Clinton administration fought vigorously against the Kyoto treaty but lost the internal policy battle to the Vice President's office. I don't recall the full story of that battle ever being told." That would be Vice President Al Gore. Even Australian MP Malcolm Turnbull, who is a supporter of reducing greenhouse gases, understood that Kyoto was just a shell game whose effect was simply to move pollution around.
Second, New Kyoto must be truly global and it must include all major emitters including the US, China and India. A tonne of CO2 emissions has the same impact whether it is emitted in Sydney, Shanghai or Stockholm. China is expected shortly to overtake the USA as the world’s largest emitter, perhaps as early as this year. By 2030 China’s emissions will be growing twice as fast as those of all the OECD nations put together.
The effect of Kyoto has been to export pollution -- and jobs -- to China. Anybody could see that, but it was an Inconvenient Truth.

They might now say that China’s on the vanguard of protecting us from global cooling and that we need to invest in carbon emission contribution schemes, aka industry.
The proles are only yo-yo's to our betters' whims.
What Global Warming is all about is once again, control and elimination of personal wealth of the average person.
If Al Gore and Sheryl Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio believed in Global Warming they would not be living in mansions or jetting around or rolling about in limos. They don't believe it. They just want to control every aspect of the average person down to how many squares of toilet paper they can use in the bathroom.

Lotsa Inconvenient Truth
because the real goal of "climate change" activism was to hamstring America.
And they know China won't give a rat's ass for what they have to say.
June 3/4 was the 18th anniversary of the Tianamen Square Massacre. Anybody see a mention of it in the MSM?
Peter:
I didn't. And I'm sure maintaining 'access' to the Chinese market -- like maintaining 'access' in pre-war Iraq -- played a large role.
But then, one of history's most murderous regimes routinely polls higher in Europe than the United States, largely the result of the same media's manufactured anti-U.S. animus.
Can't wait for the media's doting coverage 1936 Munich . . er, sorry . . . 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Just as the media trashes America, it whitewashes China. Reason: No consequences for the former, direct consequences for the latter.
BP released its Statistical Review of World Energy 2007 this month, and among its findings for 2006,
"Coal continued to be the world’s fastest-growing hydrocarbon in 2006.Global consumption rose by 4.5%, below last year’s rapid(+5.7%) growth but well above the 10-year average. Consumption growth in China, the world’s leading coal user, moderated from the strong growth seen in 2005 but remained above average. Chinese coal consumption grew by 8.7% and China accounted for more than 70% of the growth in global coal consumption."
