The UK Charities Commission now believes that George Galloway may have known that Saddam Hussein was funding his charities, according to the Times of London. "The report opens the door for the Iraqi Government to sue the appeal’s trustees, including the MP, to return $376,000 (£188,000) of diverted aid."
The commission spent more than a year studying financial records and Iraqi Oil Ministry documents and interviewing oil market sources. ... Even more damaging than today’s finding that the fund was in effect being paid for by Saddam’s regime is the suggestion that the MP may have known about the tainted source, despite denials under oath to the US Senate and in a High Court libel trial against The Daily Telegraph. ...
Every scam needs a prop. Galloway's was a sick little girl. "The Mariam Appeal was created in 1998 after the MP brought a four-year-old Iraqi girl to Britain to be treated for leukemia." With George, you would have expected nothing less.

Just like Messr's Kerrey and Kennedy with their scandalous behavior, the continuing re-election of MP Galloway speaks volumes about his electorate.
None of it good. Now with Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana we get a lesson in how the left plays real politic. They protect even the most obnoxious of their henchmen. The MSM as fellow travellers gives scandals on the left a free pass.

Galloway's fantasy-based grandstanding for profit reminds me of Al Sharpton. Except Sharpton never gets elected to office.

Galloway is a much bigger sleazoid and a far more destructive person than Al Sharpton. Sharpton is a theatrical self-aggrandizer at the expense of domestic tranquility. Galloway is all that as a means for backing some of the most vicious dictators and terrorists on Earth. There is no comparison.
