It's true. Honest.

Robert Fisk suggests that Israel used "a secret new uranium-based weapon in southern Lebanon this summer in the 34-day assault that cost more than 1,300 Lebanese lives, most of them civilians". (Hat tip Tim Blair)

Wow. Just imagine how many secret atomic bombs it would have taken to kill 655,000 Iraqis as proved by Lancet since it took 34 days of nonstop bombing to kill 1,300 Lebanese with Jewish nuclear weapons. This is the amazing thing about news stories which by constant repetition have become fact. America and the Jews have all these horrifying weapons, yet despite their brutal use over extended periods they have absolutely failed to hit any significant numbers of the enemy and only succeed in killing children, kittens and Red Cross ambulances. Against incompetents like America, the Keystone Cops would have succeeded long ago.

Ballistic Bob Fisk, it will be recalled, skulked for years about Lebanon, blind to the tens of thousands of missiles being stockpiled by Hezbollah for use against the Jews:

... The missiles are a myth – I travel the roads of southern Lebanon every two weeks and there are no such missiles, as the UN force there will confirm – but this doesn't matter. And then it will be Libya who has the most sophisticated C-B weapons. Or Saudi Arabia. Or anyone else Israel wants attacked.

Busby is a kook. Last year he was claiming DU residue from USA AP projectiles used in Iraq had caused "a discernable increase in radioactivity in the UK" - which almost cost the crackpot his job.

That said, our "Special Friend", that the evangelical Bush supports with kneejerk zeal, is known to lie and routinely backstab the USA by violating weapons technology agreements, selling them to China, then lying about it.

Despite their arrogance, they usually get caught at it then go into the doghouse until the money and clout of the Jews and political backing of the Religious Right gets them off the hook.

In the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, Israel was found to have used American cluster bomb munitions repeatedly against civilian centers and used US-provided Jets to strafe and bomb refugee convoys under UN protection - as well as violated assurances given to the US that Israel would stop at the Litani river. This greatly angered the Reagan Administration and interfered with relations until they were restored some years later with adequate reparations of manila envelopes stuffed with cash doled out to the right Americans.

Again with this summer's conflict with Hezbollah, Israel was found to have violated US military aid agreements. We know that they drenched southern Lebanon with cluster bombs in the last 72 hours of the war, leaving tens of thousands of bomblets which are still killing Lebanese civilians every week. And we now know - after it first categorically denied using such munitions - that the Israeli army also used phosphorous bombs

Yes, Hezbollah launched rockets, but Israel got the "made in USA" cluster bombs on the understanding they that as a condition to get those American taxpayer freebies - that those bombs (and white phosphorous, and MLRS rockets) would not be used against populated areas

It is especially galling to DOD and State - both getting huge heat from NATO and Arab allies for Israel's recklessness and treachery - in particular for providing cluster bombs then failing to end military ties when Israel violated it's agreements. (Which the Arab and NATO countries know is politically impossible given Zionist power in America but are happy to bash the US over, anyways) Bombs that we now know Israel mostly dropped or fired off in cluster artie shells and MLRS rockets (all American-made) in the last 3 days of the war in frustration - long after the withdrawal was announced - and apparantly fused in a manner that would ensure a high number of unexploded bomblets would litter Southern Lebanon settlement areas.

Our "Special Friend" could give the French lessons in the art of advanced backstabbing of your friends, and lessons to the Saudis in effective use of money to get your way even after you have backstabbed.

The nuclear stuff though, is just Lefties still deranged that the IAEA and other investigations by agencies such as the Royal Society show DU minimally harmful and less harmful than other contaminants generated by war and weaponry. There is no such thing as a "subsupercritical mininuke", no "enriched uranium thermobaric bomb" and DU used in penetrators is actually less radioactive than naturally occuring uranium's radiation because the far more radioactive U-235 and radon, radium, and polonium are removed in processing.

Robert Fisk suffers from congenital impacted bile. He is full of shit.

Israel was assaulted by thousands of Iranian supplied rockets. C-4 often advocates a more robust and brutal use of military power in dealing with sworn and demonstrable enemies. Thousand of rockets assaulting civilian areas should represent an adequate demonstration of hostile intent. It seems to me Israel applied the C-4 solution to dealing with enemies.

The client of Iran, Hezbollah, is the enemy common to both the US and Israel. Let Iran clean up the cluster bombs and let the Lebanese learn a lesson that bad decisions have consequences.

The New York Daily News reported in its April 3d edition that an investigation launched by the paper found that four GIs returning from Iraq are “contaminated with radiation likely caused by dust from depleted uranium shells fired by U.S. troops.” All four of the soldiers are from the 442d Military Police Company, and were previously stationed in the vicinity of Samawah, Iraq.

A nuclear medicine expert, Dr. Asaf Duracovic, examined and tested nine soldiers from the company, and says that four “almost certainly” inhaled radioactive dust from exploded American shells manufactured with depleted uranium. He also stated that “These are amazing results, especially since these soldiers were military police not exposed to the heat of battle.”

And indeed they are amazing, considering the newspaper account of the soldiers’ illnesses, and the discussions of the ammunition itself are fraught with half-truths and errors.

One of the most glaring omissions by Dr. Duracovic and his colleagues is that they fail to explain how a substance that is less radioactive than natural uranium can be labeled as “radioactive weapons.” By way of comparison, DU’s radioactivity is so low, that a single piece weighing 6,615 pounds would be needed to obtain one curie of radioactivity.

Depleted Uranium: The Saga Continues

Depleted uranium is a wonderful substance for use in bullets, combining the hardness of tungsten with the density of lead. The Navy uses it in it's Vulcan Phalanx Close-In Weapons System anti-missile gatling gun, and it is also used in the A-10 Warthog plane as an anti-tank round.

Saddam began circulating propaganda that it was causing sick Iraqi kids and the leftie and anti-nuke MSM ran with the ball.

It is US "friendship" with Muzzi thiefdoms like Saudia and Pakistan that is causing the US forces to go about fighting with their hands tied behind their back, Cederfart. It's too bad that the MLRS were used, if they were used, in already depopulated areas. Israel should have used them 30 days earlier before any warnings were given and any chance for Hezbollah to evacuate the area.

2164th - Thousand of rockets assaulting civilian areas should represent an adequate demonstration of hostile intent. It seems to me Israel applied the C-4 solution to dealing with enemies.

The fact that Hezbollah launched missiles on Israeli cities does not negate the terms of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract the US signed with Israel on usage of certain weapons. Nor does it negate the circumstances of Israel launching 90% of it's cluster bombs with a suspiciously high dud rate in the last 3 days of the war when Hez missile attacks were mostly suppressed - a matter now under investigation by the US State Department, the UN war crimes Council (along with Hez targeted Israeli civilians).

1. Israel has a history of violating weapons use agreements with the USA agencies supplying them. No other country has backstabbed us on breaches of contracts on military aid items. (Or covertly sold them to the Chinese).

2. The history Israel does have is using cluster bombs and white phosporus on civilian populations, even refugee camps. The US suspended delivery or cooperation on cluster bombs technology from 1982-86, after the Israelis bombed civilian centers and refugee convoys under UN flag, lied about it, and were caught at it. The clout of the Israel Lobby restored their access after Iran-Contra started. The Israelis are also now banned as untrustworthy from any development work on F-35, satellite systems, and new missiles, and certain fire control systems - for the China backstab.

3. In the waning days of the war, there was an apparant decision to let loose with all the cluster bombs they had and not only violate that agreement, but also the MLRS restrictions Israel accepted so the American taxpayer could give them that system as well. Apparantly, part of the plan was to litter S Lebanon with duds and make it difficult for the Lebanese to clear debris and reoccupy towns and impede movement on roads and use of agricultural crops. 100,000 duds are estimated to now be serving as de facto landmines - and naturally when they are found, the global media is quick to show photos proving their "made in the USA origin"
And again, Israel used white phosphorus on civilian towns, lied it did, then admitted they did after Euro and Egyptian doctors autopsied the corpses.

******************
Istarious - It's too bad that the MLRS were used, if they were used, in already depopulated areas. Israel should have used them 30 days earlier before any warnings were given and any chance for Hezbollah to evacuate the area.

Considering how readily the Israelis violate the terms of usage of weapons the US taxpayer gives them, I'm surprised they didn't.

Israel is free to defend itself from attack on civilian centers, even to use their own homebuilt weapons with no "strings" on usage - but not free to violate agreements it made with the US regarding certain mass death weapons - and again cost America considerable international embarassment and damage in the process.

You seem to know best what those written and unwritten agreements between the US and Israel might be. Perhaps Cederfart, you should submit your assertion of Israeli violations to Jewboy Caspar Weinberger.

C-4,Your three points:

1. Perhaps.

2. Israeli enemies make no distinction between civilian and military targets, in fact they prefer soft civilian targets as the direct attack on the Israeli military usually ends with some unusually unpleasant consequences.

The Arab and Islamic enemies of Israel also work from civilian areas. They do that for tactical reasons and the they use it as a strategy for propoganda purposes. Look at the world hysteria when Israel kills civilians, as an adjunct to military activity, as opposed to the Arab tactic of making the civilians targets. How would Defense Minister C-4 handle that? I know how Defense Minister 2164th would do it and I still have my foreskin. Israel is far more restrained than any of the US Allies were when they were in an existential struggle during WWII.

3. A retreat by an enemy does not constitute a surrender. It is a hostile enemy army heading in the opposite direction usually to survive and kill you tomorrow. Apply the C-4, 2164th Minister of Defense test. What do you think? I have my move worked out and it would not be throwing them a Good Bye Party.
